I WANT TO BE AN ADVOCATE TO HELP END ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE.jpg

BECOME AN ADVOCATE FOR THE COLUMBUS MEMORY Project™

What is an advocate? An advocate is someone who is passionate about finding a cure for Alzheimer's. Often it is a family member of someone who has had Alzheimer's. Sometimes it is a professional who works with those suffering from memory loss. From family, to friends, to care givers, to nurses, to physicians, to church clergy....for those of us touched by this disease, we are all almost naturally advocates for a cure.

What does an advocate do? Becoming the first city in the world to screen every senior citizen for memory loss as well as tens of thousands tested for their genetic risk of Alzheimer's disease is a HUGE undertaking. This program will offer every area resident over 65 years of age a free memory test designed to give individuals a “Memory Number®”, as a baseline understanding of his or her memory health. Because prevention research includes persons as young as 55, CMP will include these younger individuals in its outreach as well. By engaging every eligible citizen, Columbus will be in a position to battle Alzheimer’s disease before it has begun. We can't do this alone, so here is what you can do to help as an advocate:

  • Talk about The Columbus Memory Project™ in your spheres of influence
  • Post about it in social media
  • Encourage churches, civic groups, and businesses you know to help with Memory Town Hall meetings where participants can not only learn but get their Memory Number®
  • Sign up for our regular updates on the projects status
  • Enlist others

We will provide you with all the information and materials that you need to be successful. It takes so little time, but can change not only our community but our world for the better.
